Small swaps for a safer, happier home

Consider skipping

• Hamster balls: scary and unsafe for most hamsters. A secure play area is a gentle swap.
• Cotton or fluffy nesting fluff: strands can tangle around limbs. Plain, unscented tissue is a good swap.
• Yogurt drops, honey sticks and mineral or lime chews: sugary or unnecessary. Natural wood chews and a balanced food are better.
